Hazardous Tree Identification Services

Hazard prevention is much better than dealing with a hazard once it’s already manifested itself in one way or another. That’s why our tree specialist team is trained and highly capable in the area of spotting potential issues that may arise with trees and solving them promptly.

There are many hazards that can occur or come up regarding trees. While they are typically strong and healthy organisms, they do occasionally cause issues that must be addressed.

“Hazard Tree Management deals in probabilities of failure rather than certainties. Age, species (especially rooting and branching characteristics), site, and condition all influence the relative hazard of the tree.”

www.nwcg.gov/branches/pre/rmc/htsc/toolbox_assessment/how_to_id_tree_hazards.pdf

This quote from the University of Tennessee explains the importance of hazard tree management quite well. Here is a list of common issues that arise with trees that we here at JK Cooper are experienced in dealing with:

  • Improper tree planting resulting in unhealthy trees
  • Broken or loose branches
  • Trees leaning too close to power lines
  • Tree growth threatening to damage properties

We know how to deal with these issues and ensure that they do not become hazardous. This process is what we refer to as hazard identification.

Prevention is Best

For example, when it comes to an issue of a tree resting too close to a power line, our trained experts will see this occurrence coming long before the tree actually even reaches that stage. As such, we will advise the property owner and quite possibly employ a technique we refer to as cable bracing.

See this excerpt from our cable bracing page for an idea of just what this is:

“Our skilled tree and crop experts are able to brace your tree and provide it with support using high quality, industry standard cables that will keep any new issues from arising.”

Reduce Tree Liability

Another way in which our hazardous tree identification services assist our client is in the reduction of tree liability. Look at this definition of ‘tree liability’ from Aviva:

“The owner and/or occupier of land upon which trees stand is generally liable for any loss or damage resulting from falling branches or from the falling of the tree itself. Whilst the incidence of accidents is low falling branches have resulted in deaths and caused serious road accidents.”

www.aviva.co.uk/risksolutions/document-library/files/90/9001_-_liability_for_hazardous_trees.pdf

These issues may arise from anything like a broken or about-to-fall tree branch right through to the roots of a tree damaging your neighbour’s driveway.

We have the resources and knowledge to assist you in ensuring that all tree-related hazards on your property are taken care of in a way that works for you and your property.

We hope this page has demonstrated our knowledge and standpoint as a very helpful source of information in the hazardous tree identification area. We look forward to working with you on your next tree-related project! Why not give us a call for a free quote and see what we can do for you?

“Please thankyou your colleagues for the very professional job they did in reducing the height of our tree. It now has hanging flower baskets all over it and looks pretty good in its new form. I thought the boys might like to see the photos. Once again thanks for a job well done. ”
